Newport is the original “City by the Sea.” It is an old colonial town which has attracted the wealthy from nearby states for well over a century as a summer vacation spot. Broadway is Newport’s Soho neighborhood with an eclectic mix of boutiques, restaurants, and artist galleries. The main area is closer to downtown, but the shops, restaurants, and night life continue well up Broadway near the hospital. At the corner of Broadway and Bliss Road is the Bliss Natural Market, a wonderful organic café.
